Designed by architect Santiago Calatrava, this bridge, inaugurated in December 2000, is of a unique design in France. Its simple and clean lines make it majestic and its integration into the unique landscape is quite successful.

Story behind the shot and EXIF

One of my first “long exposure” shots, taken on a warm summer night. Camera on a tripod, lens closed down to f/8 to get some depth of field and manual exposure. Experimented to find the “correct” exposure time which, in this case, was about 20 seconds.

Post processing done in Adobe Lightroom, mainly spot removal (got some hot pixels…) and I applied a light vignette.

  • Exposure Time (1 / Shutter Speed) = 20/1 second ===> 20 second
  • Lens F-Number / F-Stop = 8/1 ===> ƒ/8
  • ISO Speed Ratings = 200
  • Original Date/Time = 2009:08:23 22:19:23
  • Shutter Speed (Exposure Time) = 1/0.05 second
  • Exposure Bias (EV) = -1/1 ===> -1
  • Flash = Flash did not fire
  • Focal Length = 30/1 mm ===> 30 mm
